Bo & Per parked at Lake Wononscopomuc. Parks are infrastructure too.

Pulled for the winter, a beached floating dock. The park is an engine of the local economy. Beautiful too. Locals call it their pond. The other pond belongs to another town. Locals pay about $30 bucks a year. They own their park. Outsiders can join – at about $300 per year. It’s pay-to-play in the park. Tag: Own it – love it – pay it.

On October 5th, the first day of the Dire States tour I couldn't resist taking a victory lap in the pond. So thankful to have made the first leg of our trip. 200 miles down, another 10,000 to go.
